Anyone have an AA? Some questions

I initially signed up for an AA in Business, and was just recently told that I'm listed as an AA in Liberal Arts...Whoever signed me up, obviously messed up. I've taken 6 Business courses that are required for the AA in Business. There are 3 remaining. Here's the issue: I have plans to graduate this fall, regardless. If I decide to get the AA-BUS, I have to take 3 additional courses on top of the 3 courses I'm taking this Fall. If I decide to stay with the AA-LA, I only have to take 3 courses. The problem is, that if I fail any of the 6 classes, I'm set back another semester. This includes Business Calculus and Public speaking, which take up a lot of time and effort on their own. I'm not sure if I should just get the AA-LA and transfer to another University, or get my AA-BUS and transfer. Either way, I plan on transferring to another University. I was told by an adviser that when getting an AA, there's really not that big of a difference in degrees. Any ideas?

for most schools the AA just satisfies the general education requirements (the first 2 years), and leaves your major open. the only thing that could be a concern is that in many schools the requirements for the humanities school and the business school are different, so check to make sure you can transfer between the two inter-university easily.

I did get an AA before getting my BS. The university I ultimately transferred to didn't care if it was a general AA degree or an AA in llama raising, it was the same. As Teger mentioned, the determining factor should be the school you plan to transfer do. Before making a decision, talk to them and see if there's a difference. For most I would guess an AA is an AA, but best to be on the safe side.

You can have a major for your AA but the most important thing, since you are attending a community college, is to make sure all the classes transfer to whatever University you plan on attending.

The other thing I ran into with my AA was that when I transfered to my University I didn't take enough (took everything required) credits at the University to qualify to graduate with honors.

I checked and I couldn't find a single University that would allow you to graduate with honors if you transfered from a Community College. The Universities required something like 80 credit hours taken at the University and if you transfer over you only need to take something like 64 credit hours to finish your BS
