Ryan Gosling Notebook haircut. Need help.

Hello everyone. I'm Ryan. New to this site and I thought I would register to see if I can get any help on getting this haircut/style. The haircut I want is a long rugged look. Like Ryan Gosling in the movie The Notebook. How do I get this haircut or something similar to it? Are their layers? Is his hair naturally curly or straight, I can't really tell? Any help would be great. This is me (my hair is thin i think) Does my hair need to be longer? This is the haircut that I want. Sorry I cant really find any back shot or side of him.

Since you're Asian, you should probably wait until you're like 55 when you're able to grow a beard to try the rugged look.

g transistor, I am Vietnamese and is also part French. I think I can grow a full beard since I am starting to grow hair on my cheeks. My dad has a full beard so I think I can too. Genetics =)

Wash your hair about 2-3 times a week.

Oils in your hair don't get washed away as easily, and it changes the texture.

Idk, I'd talk to a stylist and see if they have any ideas.

Besides the texture of his hair, how is his hair cut? Layers? Short in the back long in the front?

What's everyone's fascination with Ryan Gossling and his hair ?

so you basically have the cut if u just part it more to the side instead of pushing it foward all hipster swoop bang-like.

the cut sucks though. it looks like you went to one of those asian salons where they tend to go overboard with the texturizing shears/comb razor in order to make u look like a korean pop star, but instead have probably left an uneven, stringy ends mess . . . how do i know this? bc i'm also asian and have been a victim of the korean salon/stylists that think razor cuts are for everyone.

u need to grow it out a couple months, then go to someone who will give you a little less texture and maybe a layer. know that it won't look exactly like him bc u hair appears to be straighter/coarser in texture.

sbbbjm, I know what you mean! Most Asian hair salons tend to make you look like a Korean model or singer.

So I should just grow out my hair and get it layer?

Thanks guys, been helpful.
