I'll revive this thread because I now have a decision to make. I never did an undergrad fraternity, but as a first year pharmacy student I received bids for both of the pharmacy-related fraternities at my college (there are no undergrad frats here...go figure). It is a small private school in the middle of bumfuck, so I don't really know anyone and want the social aspect and camaraderie. Both frats are coed and professional oriented but still have the social bonds. I like frat A more, but if I were to pledge then I would literally be the only guy in my pledge class (the whole pharmacy school ratio is 3 female:1 male)....not necessarily complaining, but I'm sure the estrogen filled climate will get to me eventually. Frat B has more guys in it, and there would be more guys in my pledge class. They also have more of the "party" reputation. But frat B also has the benefit of being the only fraternity on campus to have a house and being the largest and oldest pharmacy fraternity in the country.
I've never been a social type, although I am trying to break out of it. People say that you should join one that fits your personality...neither frat seems to fit me like a glove but Frat A has the edge. But Frat B would have the brotherhood I am looking for, and could help me break out of my introverted mold. Thoughts? Has anyone joined a frat with less confidence, but ultimately thought it to be the best decision?
