I dont think Don cares about the father at all. He just wants Betty to be happy. He cant reason with her because he pregnant and emotional, so he's just pulling strings behind her back. My only guess is that if he forces the father into his house, Betty will get tired of him soon enough, then have him moved into a home; a decision she will be happy about after she is the one calling that shot. I just cant imagine Don wanting that old man to live with them. We will see.

Agreed. I don't think he wants the old man around at all (especially when he's pouring Don's good booze down the sink). I did like the way Don ran over Betty's brother, however, and his decision is going to force her to face reality.

As for Betty, she seems to be moving from being emotionally distant towards their kids to outright resenting them. Between her state of mind and her constant smoking and drinking, things don't look good for the unborn kid.

BTW is it clear as to whether the baby that Betty is carrying is Don's? Is there even the slightest possibility that it could be the guy Betty hooked up with while in Manhattan?

I believe she found out she was pregnant before the affair. I thought it seemed to have happened when they had sex at her father's house earlier in the season.

Ah, that is another possibility. With my above theory I was wondering if season 3 would unfold with this little bundle of joy somewhere in the middle. I think however, that the time lines between the two events are close enough that the characters (or Betty at least) could soon be questioning the paternal identity of the child.

That's an interesting idea. Any thoughts on if or when Duck Phillips would make a return to Sterling-Cooper or was he finished shortly after the end of Season 2? Yeah I was wondering about the appeal of Ann-Margaret, her singing abilities, and the movie in general. Looking at it from a musical perspective it was an interesting idea; to have the intro sung with the characteristics of a 14 year old girl madly in love with Birdie(?), ended with a reprisal sung with the emotion of a woman who grew up and is more aware of how lousy Birdie truly was. At least that was my understanding of the concept; mind you I haven't seen the movie myself. I had to listen to both variations a few times before even being able to detect the subtle differences between the two. The arrangement of the rhythm section was interesting though. To me it wasn't just the shrilling voice, her singing sounded a bit off key to me and I hated how she pronounced Birdie as "bird-hee". Paris Hilton of the 60s? Maybe, but at least Ann-Margaret had talent.

Don was handed a cheque for something like 10x his annual salary is I remember correctly at the end of the last season. I wonder if they are going to be exploring what they will do with it or how it will change their lives??

I also wonder what happened with Duck Phillips? He stormed off in a huff but I didn't think he would get fired or quit over it.

RE, yes, but were the ones he was wearing the Aviator or Intruder? Looked more like the Intruder with bayonet, but I don't know.

Paul Kinsey's outfit in the opening scene was epic.
