How was your roommate in college?

Did you enjoy living with him, or was it a nightmare? Any fun stories?

My roomate looked so young that I later found out that everyone thought he was my little brother and a week after we moved in everyone was like wtf is his brother still doing here?

We got along fine personally, but didn't match up well as roomates. He was a huge stoner/skater and he and his friends were always ripping the bong or rolling joints in the room. Also about 5/7 nights he would come back at 2am or so and slam the door to the room, which got old. In addition he had some amazing foot fungus that stunk up the entire room so I never wanted to let anyone else in my room... He probably complained to his friends about his square-ass roomate and blamed the fungus smell on me... we remained on good terms throughout school though.

not in college, but I had a roomate once who was very depressed. I literally didn't see him standing up for a couple of years. I would get home from work, he would be sitting in his bed, watching tv. I would go to bed, he would get up to eat late at night and then go back to bed. I wold get up in the morning and he would be asleep when I left for work. literally, for a couple of years.

i had several roomates in both academy and college. the roomate i had my senior year of hs went onto be a college roomate and my best man. he and i are really good friends, not as close as we were in high school, but any time we get together it is easy to fall back into our old routine and he's definitely the most loyal and best friend i've got.

I think I mentioned this once. I showed up at the dorms, and my room was plastered with pictures of my roommate's high school girlfriend. Absolutely plastered. As it turned out, he was the son of a preacher from a small town in Southern California. About a month later, she broke up with him, and he trashed the room, and tore the pics to shreds. About another month later he started wearing t-shirts depicting penis piercings, and offering to show his Prince Albert. I got an apartment with friends for second semester.

First year- a dud. Hardly said a word and chain smoked cigarettes and weed.
Second-a nice guy and a musician. We are still in touch.
Third year-a fun maniac. I partied like I never had before and met almost every woman on campus with him by October. Then he dropped out. His replacement was a good, solid med student. We got along great and we are still in touch.

Good friend, but he was not fun to live with. Went to sleep at 4pm and woke up at 2am and played video games all night. While he was sleeping he preferred if I had the lights off. So I have never had a roommate (though I have had suitemates) since Freshman year. And I refuse to live with anyone in my apartment either.

Freshman year I had the gayest Long Island queen as a roommate. He wore Ugg boots in the winter. One time, he was on the phone with his mother and told her that he had nearly failed a class. She must've been upset because he then said, "Maaaaa, don't worry, I can always be a Broadway dancer if I flunk out!"

4 years of college I had three sets of roomates.

Freshman year - Awesome guy I clicked with immediately. Big fan of Max Payne and Family Guy. Used to drive him crazy that I slept late. First weekend out (second weekend at school), I got alochol poisoning at his friends party. Police had to come to our dorm room to revive me. We were famous for a few weeks after that. Random Girl to Me: "You were that guy who got alcohol poisoning? The ambulance woke everyone up in the quad (all the dorms flanked it)", Random Girl to Him: "I heard your roomate got his stomach pumped. Aw, that must've been so scary... want to feel my boobs?"

Sophomore and Junior Year - Lived with my fraternity brothers. Tons of parties sophomore year while our big party houses were shutdown. Grades plummeted. Junior year, we all got sick of each other. Especially the guy that would get shitfaced and would play with his loaded shotgun while blacked out - thank fully it was broken. Or would leave his keys in the apartment, go out, get shitfaced then punch out our windows to get back in at like 4am. In the middle of the ghetto and leave blood all over our front door. Also, someone getting shot in the face in front of our house while we watched A Clock Work Orange. Fun times.

Senior year - lived with randoms at this apartment building. Second best year of college (After sophomore year) for reasons I won't repeat here.

My roommate was/is one of my best friends from high school. Get along really well in regards to almost everything, other than about his girlfriend who I absolutely hate. We drank a lot together though, had some really good drunken times together. Towards the last few days in the year, our room literally had no floor as it was covered in beer cans from the previous couple nights of drinking, so I guess you could say we weren't the cleanest bunch, and we definitely had a few noise complaints, but were living together this year again and I'm looking forward to it.
