i agree milagor is better than centenario but for the 21 o you spend on the reposado you can get 1.75 litres of azul, soemtime it cost even less, which is nto the best but ti is nto bad. and even ig you go for the regualr bottles the normal centenario is nearlya litre, milagro is only 750 ml. in general you get roe for your money.

beat me to it. tito's is miles ahead of anything else at that price point.

Appleton 15yr old Jamaican Rum. Excellent neat, a steal at <$20. FYI, I bring this back from my frequent trips to Jamaica at $13/btl at the duty-free shops.

Starting to be available more here on the US East Coast.

Costco brand vodka. $30 for 1.75l and it tastes just as tasteless as Grey Goose. Nobody will know the difference. Bourbon - I'd go with Bulleit. $25 for .750ml and it's pretty good to boot.

because $10 will get you Barton's, Nokolai, Mr. Boston, and Montezuma tequila.

$5-10 more will open up a huge range of possibilities, many of them well worth the upgrade.

my rec is to do what my old roommates used to do. get a large bottle of grey goose (or some other brand of vodka people think is premium), transfer that vodka to another bottle, then refill the empty grey goose with aristocrat or bowmans, throw a keg party and sell shots to people of ice cold "grey goose" for 5 bucks apiece, but only after a few hours of the party going. people will be drunk and won't be able to tell the difference. use the money you make to fill your liquor cabinet with decent hooch and buy drinks at bars

actually not quite true there are good bottles that can be had for 10 usd you just need to know them. at 10 usd it is not all crap. many decent tequilas rums and grappas can be found for that price. and you can get an excellent mezcal for alot less.

and that is the point of this thread, so start firing away names of these "many" bottles you mention that are under $10.

I've heard that Ancient Age bourbon is great, for the price. I've bought a bottle but haven't drank any yet.

It's $22.50 for 1.75 liters. There is also an Ancient Ancient Age, aged 6 years instead of 2, which is about $2 more.

Less than half the price of Beam Black, about the same as Evan Willliams Black, a little more than Ezra Brooks.

I hope you're drinking some tonight so you can report back to us. If I see any of that, I'll buy just to give it a shot.
