Just wondering, are all Tom Ford shirts made in Switzerland??? Can anyone comment on their lasting quality? If someone is going to spend that much on a shirt, isn't it a better choice to go to T&A or Charvet??

tough question. Tom Ford is a great designer and has excellent style. T&A is very classic and has great quality shirts.....

Hard to say......

Don't get me wrong, Tom Ford's shirts are sick, they look good (like this one), but I'm asking about quality. I feel that when I can afford to buy shirts that cost 3 - 400 dollars, wouldn't a better choice be to go bespoke at a shirtmaker? Anybody have any experience with TF dress shirts?

Last time I checked, his stuff were made in italy.

All my TF shirts (Sports or Dress) seems to last pretty good.
They do have excellent tailor in the house for you if you want any alteration on the garments; but the materials used on the shirts are pretty delicate when compared to others. The buttoms are all horns or mother of pearl; and the Tom Ford store provides absolutely pleasure and ease for shopping. TF RTW suits reaches a standard of Bespoke or MtM in both couture or bespoke tailors; however it is a tad overpriced than usual.
Above all, Tom Ford is definitely a brand in its own league, which provides luxurious men's wear/ glasses/ and grooming products. If one thing about Tom Ford that makes it stands out, it will be its bold, classic yet elegant cut; and its unique patterns that seems only exclusive for their own.

Hope it helps.

They opened a TF boutique here on Bloor in Toronto and the only thing I really found special were his ties. I purchased one. The suits all feel great and look great but certainty not for the prices they were charging.

What are the prices?
Everything was equally outrageously priced, but I picked up a silk tie with a kind of luster I'd never seen before. I rarely wear it because its so wide and doesn't really fit with my "slim" looking wardrobe but it is very beautiful, and amazingly soft. Ties were $250. I also got a PS for $150. Suits were around 5K and shirts were 500+. Keep in mind these are Canadian/Harry Rosen marked-up prices. I imagine things sell for less in the USA. I did see them on sale though at one point this year, so it is possible to get them on a deal. But again, with these prices, it's not really a deal even on sale.

It's actually the same prizes if exclude the taxes. Harry Rosen in Toronto only carries a fragment of Tom Ford's collection. Holt Renfrew also one somewhere else in Canada. TF wants to test the market in Canada before the massive invasion.

Yes, the Rosen collection is small but they do have a decent selection, many suits, ties, PS, shirts, shoes, luggage, eye wear, one-off pieces. Even much sought after stuff like the items that appeared in Quantum of Solace (double-breasted winter coat, sweater, sunglasses) were available at Rosen so I was impressed with the boutique, just not the prices.

I'm surprised to hear that Holts if carrying anything more than his eyewear because they didn't feature it in their Summer catalogue. I also thought Rosen might try to secure a deal as an exclusive distributor. Although Holts on Bloor is carrying Brioni these days, something that used to be Rosen's sole domain.

The TF - Holts Store is in Vancouver. I think holts actually have a much better varities of designer brands than Rosens. As well as the grooming collection; Rosen on the other hands seems to concentrate on the Italian brands and MtM.
After all, I'm a advocator of TF...
