i've been asked to look into these for a possible municipal project, and i know absolutely nothing about them. if anyone here knows about this stuff, please post here or PM me. i need to know which companies make these, for what uses, expenses, maintenance, everything.

if you can point me in the right direction as far as researching these, i would appreciate that as well.

thanks.

Do you have access to i-bank research? What application are you trying to research? What are you interested in, the economics or general robustness of the systems? Germany is one of the most advanced nations when it comes to the application of these types of technology. Your questions are a little vague, if you PM me with more info, I can send you some bank research, which is generally quite good in terms of analysis.. Will you post more pics of that gentlewoman in your avatar if I help?

thanks. i'll get back to you when i know more. i don't have access to i-bank and i don't even know what that is. i'm completely out of my field here. i need to find information on companies that sell solar cells for converting sunlight to electricity, and all i know is that it will likely be for some kind of small-scale commercial or residential use. and yes, i'll post more pics if you help.

http://rredc.nrel.gov/solar/old_data...redbook/atlas/ You need to look up the amount of sunlight that falls in your application to see if its feasable. Solar cells are prices at $/watt usually. Some are small and efficient (and expensive) others not so much but they are cheaper (and obviously take up more space). If you're application is other then straight DC, you will need an inverter system to convert the DC power to AC. If you can be a little more specific as to the size and application I maybe able to get some more info.

Looking lazily for some info on current manufacturing output and demand for panels in North America. This would be the large-scale type gear, major installations for utility companies. Anyone know anything?
