Quick ideas for finishing laminate flooring against exisiting brick fireplace?

So we need some ideas for how to finish the gap where laminate flooring butts against an existing brick fireplace. The fireplace is a raised hearth about 1 foot off the ground, and is at a 45* angle to the flooring. There isn't enough room to slide the flooring under the brick.

How would you go about finishing the gap? This is a family remodel, so we're inexperienced with this. Thanks!

Impossible to say without pics. One thing I've learned that if it is hard to make two surfaces to meet then use cement and river rocks.

Carefully cut the laminate pieces that butt up to the brick as close as possible, maybe a 2 to 3 mill gap and just make sure that on the opposite side that you have left a good amount of clearance. This will allow for any expansion. Take your time with this section as getting a neat finish is essential as you are not hiding this edge under anything.

You could leave a larger gap and then just finish it off by sealing the gap with a matching/close colour sealant although this can look a bit messy.

Use the correct type of blade to cut the boards so that you don't chip the edges when cutting.
