And these are at the same price point, more or less.

That thread is pretty amazing at times. I'm pretty sure that a lot of the complaint posts on the Wolverine thread are from people who have never worn a pair of real shoes or boots before and have no idea what to expect or how to look after them. Mass generalisation, I know but ...

Is there any way to modify a tote to have very short breafcase handles as opposed to the one shoulder sling things that come standard?

Call Filson to see if it is a factory option or have someone do it for you.

My girl got me that bag for Xmas. Big fan - the tweed sets it apart a little (in what I think is a good way) and it has the same Filson high quality that we all love.

That bag is great. However, I'm not a fan of the leather snap being moved to the outside to accommodate the Harris Tweed label. I often slip things into the two outer pockets on my 256 while it's closed, and that seems like it would get in the way.

PSA: Bonobos has the FilsonXSebago Olive wool and leather boots on sale right now. Plus they have free shipping and you can use the code "Bender" for another 20% off.

Just picked up a pair in 10.5 for just over 100 bucks.

Filson could do that if I mail my bag?

I am interested in the 256 (original suitcase). I see that FIlson have now started making it in tin cloth.

I wanted to inquire if the tin cloth is more rugged 'tougher' than the 22oz twill used originally?

Does the Filson Duffle make a good traveler? Have to go to Cali for a few days and don't want to check a bag at the airport, but my tote won't be large enough to take what I want.
(Just the plain ass one)

I've mentioned it before, but I've used that exact bag in tan on a 10 day trip through Italy as well as many extended weekend trips. I've since given the bag to my sister as her go-to weekend bag and have been looking for the small duffle (same size as the oil finish) on sale.

It's a great piece. What really helped me in a pinch during my Italy trip was when I could only have one carry-on with EasyJet (had my backpack as well) I had to stuff my backpack full of my duffle contents and I was able to actually roll up my oil-finish duffle and attach it to my bag.

Awesome. Will probably use it as a gym bag when not traveling.

I just placed an order through Crane's Country Store for the Filson Sportsman bag (#266) to replace an old, worn out, ripped ballistic nylon duffle bag that I've been using for my gym bag for the past 12 years. I figured it was time for an upgrade.

I'm a heavy packer, so it wouldn't be big enough for me.
