Filson Bag Thread: With Pictures - Page 142

First post! Have been a lurker for some time and am pleased to be adding to the forum.

Just broke down and spent some of my fantasy football championship winnings to purchase a tan 256 briefcase with a handgrip from Hilton's Tent City. Got 15% off. Think it will so well with my small tan duffle (220).

Plan to use the 256 as my everyday bag commuting in to NYC from CT on the train. I usually leave my laptop in the office so it'll hold my kindle, an umbrella, a black and red notebook, my Field Notes notebook, a manila folder of papers, pens, business cards, a piece of fruit, my iPad...and on the train ride home my empty coffee tumbler. Looks like it should also hold my laptop on the days I need to bring it home. 

Now I can't wait to get it and start breaking it in.

I just googled this thread to see if anyone had thoughts on the tin cloth black briefcase

I just just put my order in for one. I'm dying to get it

Just a "FYI" for anyone thinking about visiting the Filson Outlet up in Burlington, WA.  I was just there on Friday, 01/04 and they are nearly wiped out of anything in Filson's luggage line.  I think they may have had 3 bags total.  Not sure if there was a Holiday rush on these items or what...

I'll try to stop by again in the next couple of weeks and see if they have re-stocked at all.  Not sure what their supply chain is for seconds.  Don't imagine it's all that consistent so I would be surprised to see a quick re-stock.

Thanks to all of your Filson pictures, and being addicted to items with great craftsmanship, I decided to take the plunge and look for a 256.

That is, until my wife surprised me with an odd Sebago X Filson bag!

Looks to be a 257, but with a leather storm flap and a lightly embossed "Sebago." 

I'm somewhat thinking it is too big for my frame (5'7"), but hoping to break it in.
