Have some difficulty finding a Red Label Zippered Tote in Navy online, and in stock.
All I can find is Urban Outfitters, but they are on backorder until end of November.

Anyone here that has any other suggestions?

the zippers on the 256 and the tote are not so smooth, hopefully they will be smoother when getting more use angry.gif

In my experience they smoothen out. I'm happy with how tough they are, I'm not afraid they'll break anytime soon.

Looking for a garment bag in tan, if anyone has one and is interested in selling for a fair price.

Broke down and bought a tan rucksack this weekend at the Filson store in Portland. I hated it in the pictures on the website, but loved it when I saw it in person at the store.

It may have been covered in this thread already, but:

Is there anything I need to do to treat the canvas?

It's Portland, so I will be wearing this on my motorcycle through the rain a lot, if that matters. Was thinking maybe silicone spray?

anyone have any comments on using the large travel bag vs the medium duffel?
They are almost the same dimensions over all, duffel is alittle longer, travel bag is alittle wider but has alot more interior and exterior organizational pockets. I have a feeling it would be easier to use but not so good to carry.

Plus the duffel has cleaner lines I suppose. Thoughts?

Hi guys,

I am new to the forum, but joined mainly due to the Filson threads and the Saddleback threads, so I figured I would post a picture of my Filson collection and introduce myself here. I look forward to contributing to the forum:)

Here is a photo of my Tan 256 Original Briefcase, my Otter Green 256 Original Briefcase, my Tan 246 Travel Bag Medium, my Otter Green 240 Carry On Small and my Otter Green 220 Small Duffle Bag.

Thanks for looking!

Can anybody comment on the handgrip on the 256/257?

I'll have to wait two weeks from Crane's in order for them to get the brown handgrip 256 from Filson. However, they said they could send a 256 the next day with an unattached Filson handgrip and I could try to find someone who could do it for me. Any advice on this? Does attaching the hand grip look like an easy installation / is it merely stitched onto one of the straps?

Handgrip pics would be amazing, as well as any NYC leather tailor recommendations.

I would get the grip added. It'smore comfortable to carry and looks better IMO.

For the extra $20 I would get them to do it as well. Save yourself the grief.

+1

I got the grip installed on my 256, and it's been awesome. If you plan on carrying your bag by its handles at all, this is a no brainer.

Also, the stitching they use is pretty robust. Definitely let them install it.

You can get the handle from the 257/8 installed on the 256 for $20.
