How do you think you are most likely to die?

If I had to guess, I will probably die in something transportation related; probably hit by a car. Coat hanger is an icon because some of our younger members are still in greatest danger of a post-natal abortion.

Yea, I was going to say get hit by a car.

I can see myself not looking and stepping into the street while on a night out with friends.

Heart attack or massive CVA (stroke). I tend to be a worrier and I'm sure the stress will do me in one day.

Not "like to die", it's "likely to die".

Seriously? Cigarettes, alcohol or car accident. Car accident will be most likely in short term, alcohol will be due to doing something stupid, cigarettes in 10-60 years.

Other possibilities: Maybe kidnapped while travelling in Nigeria and killed when no one will pay my ransom. Maybe plan accident while flying to Miami to see a friend.

I hope I didn't just jinx myself

I have a feeling lots of people on here will die alone. . .

In my case, I have a feeling I'll either have an accident with lightning, or maybe get consumed by wild animals.

Actually I don't have that feeling, but it is more entertaining than simply listing the top 5 statistically most likely, straight from WHO (high income countries):


Coronary heart disease
Stroke and other cerebrovascular diseases \t
Trachea, bronchus, lung cancers \t
Lower respiratory infections \t
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

up till age 25 or so, I assumed it would be violently

then, up until about 40, I assumed by traffic accident

now I figure a heart attack or other relativly minor medical issue that will happen to me when I am at 30,000 feet or in rural india or someplace that it will take me hours to get medical attention, and therefore I will die.

As many times as I have driven home drunk and made it with no problems I will most likely get killed by a drunk driver who still has a stupid "rookie driver" sticker on their car.
