Velocity Diet

I saw the old thread where it was mentioned, but I wanted to start this new one. http://www.tmuscle.com/free_online_p...locity_diet_30 Has anyone done this? The $550 worth of powder has been ordered and I will be starting mine this coming Monday. My only concern with the diet is losing muscle, which seems to be inevitable with such low caloric intake. That and of course keeping up with it. I might keep my progress here for other SFers to see. Before: 6'1", 190lbs I will try post a weekly update pic. My diet starts on Monday, 8/16/2009

I've done it, and actually gained some strength on it. As long as you get enough protein and work out as normal, you shouldn't lose any muscle

So you lost weight while increasing your lifts? I would be happy just being able to maintain strength. Did you follow the 3 day split with the one more day circuit training routine provided by the website?

I was intrigued by it, but know I'd lose my damn mind if I had to live off really nothing but protein powder for that long. I have enough trouble getting myself to chug down my standalone protein powder with water each day.

I worked out about 5-6 days a week, following my usual workout

not exactly that, but I did a 2 week protien fast - essentially nothing but low carb protien shakes and broth for 2 weeks, less than 1000 calories a day with essentailly zero carbs and zero fat. I used it to jump start a diet. lost about 20 pounds in 2 weeks, but over jsut under 2 years lost about 110 pounds total.

That's crazy. You had enough energy for that? The workout program Velocity Diet prescribes seems to be very specific. And they don't even allow cardio on the off days?

Yeah, didnt really feel any energy decrease. Didnt do any cardio while on it

16 pounds in 28 days for me. If you can get past the first week it gets easier.

Do you lose weight as your will to live slowly drains from your body with each successive protein shake?

It's definitely something you want to cycle once or twice a year. But you can't argue with the results.

I am 6'1" 190lbs right now (33" waist) so I should get down to 180lbs or so after the 28 days.

It's magic. They found a recipe for weight loss that can't be explained.

Good luck with the diet, I hope it works out for you. Did you do a body composition test? It is about $40 and it tells you the % of lean muscle and fat that you currently have. After the diet, you can be remeasured. It will also tell you your metabolic rate, but I am not sure how accurate it is.
