I live in the Bay Area but when going into San Francisco I'm in kind of a rut when it comes to shopping. I'm in need of suggestions for interesting and unique home decor, kitchen and gifts as well as maybe some personal accessory shops.

Where do you stylish guys recommend I go?

Check out the Scrimshaw Gallery in Sausalito. Among other items, they have a bronze sculpture of the Nautilus being attacked by a giant squid. Unique and very cool. They also have a lot of fine original scrimshaw examples.

There's a garden and curio shop next to 826 Valencia (the McSweeney's/Eggers pirate store) that had some interesting stuff. Ranged from interesting nature lithos (think Audobon) to WTF goth creepy (stuffed mouse mounted to look like crucified Jesus).

These are all good. Thank you. Is there a favorite shop for unique stationery and candles?

No idea about stationary and candles, but my cousin took me to a place in Potrero Hill that will meet all your high tech tactical gear needs: TAD Gear. Really interesting place.

Is the All Things Scottish store (Herbert Russell?) still there? That was cool.

There was also a toy shop on Chestnut in the Marina that had a cat.

There's a frame shop on Fillmore near Pine that has the most beautiful picture frames I've ever seen, fwiw. Hand made in Romania.

All Things Scottish had two incredibly hot girls with Scottish accents manning the counter when I was in there. I don't know if they imported them or what, but it definitely made me consider buying a Utilikilt.
