Anyone looking to buy a cool bike?

I have a really cool custom bike that I regrettably don't ride at all and was wondering if anyone here would be interested... It's a five-speed, no derailleurs, very simple & low maintenance custom made bike that cost me around $1K about a year and a half ago. I might have ridden it ten times since. It's in excellent condition, just dusty. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves (slow connection warning): 08-22-09 Update: Found my original receipt, which will clarify a few things. Firstly, the bike was exactly $865.92. Secondly, I was mistaken - it's a 4-speed hub, not 5. Sorry about that. Even more importantly, the frame is 53cm. Please refer to the below scan for details. Price reduced to $665 OBO.

Unless I missed it I didn't see the size? Either way, very, very cool bike. I've been looking for a couple weeks and would be very tempted if it was in Chicago.

not interested in the bike, but just FYI, you can take it to a bike shop and have them box it up for shipping for a fee, it's pretty easy and cheap (like 25-50 USD to box it and then they'll usually ship it for you too).

Oh, yes, the size - I don't remember exactly but I'm 5'10" and it was custom-built for me. I'll see if I can find the size somewhere, though.

let me know and I may just be interested...

Im within NY so shipping shouldnt be too much.

Yes, absolutely. I have a shop nearby that I can ship through, it's not a problem.

I just figured that people might want to check it out in person but the bike is mint anyway. I just simply haven't ridden it.

It's a 5-speed with no derailleurs? I'm guessing you shift with the bar-end shifter on the right, but how, exactly, do the "gears" change? Just curious...

Yes, the shifter if on the right and it's a smooth, non-click-in shifting motion. I don't really know exactly how it works but it's integrated into the hub.
This one is very similar.
It's actually a pretty wide range in gearing and shifts very smoothly.

If you need to measure the bike, the two most useful measures are from the centre of the spindle along the seat-tube to the centre of the junction with the top tube and from the same spot at the centre of the seat tube - top tube junction to the approximate centre of the where the seat tube and head tube join. Receipt is perhaps on the misguided concern that the bike is hot. Which it is, but not in the way mc25 may be thinking.

Are you sure that's a 5-speed?
It appears to be a Shimano hub (stamped JAPAN VIA)
Shimano internal geared hubs are 3, 4, 7 or 8 speeds.

Try providing measurements A and B.


Not in the market for something like that, but it's definitely cool.
