Unlocking a Blackberry to use on MetroPCS?

Is this possible? I know MetroPCS uses CDMA, but can a sprint BlackBerry be unlocked and used with MetroPCS? Metro came out with a Blackberry, but it's not available in NY.

So saving a few $ on your blackberry is too small time? got it.

Spend a couple of dollars on an unlock code from eBay will liberate you from smalltimer to largetimer status.

CDMA requires the carrier to activate the phone and assign your number to it. I doubt taking a Sprint-branded and unlocked Blackberry to the MetroPCS store to have them set it up with your number would work well for you.

Metro sells the 8330 Blackberry in markets where their network is running on the 850/1900mhz band. All their older markets use this band. Sprint, or other CDMA blackberries can be unlocked and flashed to work on Metro in these areas. All the newer Metro markets (everything after Vegas IIRC) are using the newer AWS spectrum they bought in the 1700/2100mhz range. No flashed or unlocked CDMA phones will work there. So in simple terms, it wont work in NYC.
