sucking the wound for poison to suck it out. Does that still have a role?

I remember reading sometimes ago that the barbs? of the bees cannot be directly pulled out because it'll damage the tissue more.

(edited in thanks to Mark from Plano)

reading these reponses in sequence has been alternately comical and horrifying.

no barb when I checked. Bees (iirc) leave a barb but not wasps. bastards.

Anyway I'm now on a Crusade - nay, a Rampage - to rid Chateau Thomas from Wasps. The buzzy kind, with wings and stingers.

As a child, I put a ball cap upon my head, only to find it was inhabited by a wasp with a very foul-attitude. He stung me thirteen times before I could get the cap off. Probably explains a lot.

Obviously the first fuckin' thing you should do is go to a style forum and ask your internet pals what do.

WOW. Owie!

I caught a sting under the chin as a youth and remember it hurting like mad. This time it was more bothersome than excruciating. But it may be a while before I venture into the pool again sans swimsuit.

Well, that was the plan...but I got stung and then had to drive to work and procrastinated a bit and finally had a chance to poast.
