$125,000 a year in NYC or $250,000 in North Dakota?

for me , i dont necessarily need to live in a great bustling city. i m here in los angeles area, but i would think i could be perfectly fine in some remote area, as long as they have one accessible shopping mall mecca and a few restaurants.

If you are married ND is not so bad. If single it would probably be a nightmare compared to NYC.

North Dakota for sure. Will save a huge amount of money, live in a mansion, cleaner living and I can have enough money to go fly to NYC whenever I want and live it up for a weekend.

Depends on how much you spend. If you do not worry about saving, you can live decadently with 125K.
