Live in the middle of nowhere or take a smaller salary and live in one of the greatest cities in the world?

The cost of living in ND is so cheap, that $250,000/yr will get incredibly far.

What's the upside to each? In N. Dakota you can save a ton of money, retire early and do whatever you want for the rest of your life. In NYC you can live in an exciting city while you're young but you will be a poor.

If you are married ND is not so bad. If single it would probably be a nightmare compared to NYC.

Dunno about that. There are lots of great women in the area with Scandinavian heritage...

North Dakota for sure. Will save a huge amount of money, live in a mansion, cleaner living and I can have enough money to go fly to NYC whenever I want and live it up for a weekend.

125k in NYC, I'd be living in a **** box worrying about budgeting.

Relatively speaking, there is a huge dearth of single women in ND. NYC has millions more single women. And anonymity. I am not denying that there are attractive women in North Dakota.

Depends on how much you spend. If you do not worry about saving, you can live decadently with 125K.
