Google Checkout is Retarded

I sold about 4 thousand dollars worth of stuff this weekend. Boots for about 1500. Blazer for about 400. Camera for about 200. Shirt for about 60. Another shirt for 30... This was done mostly thursday and friday. I shipped out all the items. Most of the stuff was either two day or next day delivery. The two big ticket items were next day and have been delivered. So there was a bunch of money in my google checkout account that had not been transferred...as they take a few days to transfer the stuff to the merchants account. Today I log into my account and see that my account has been closed. It also says that any money that has not been transferred to my bank account will be refunded to the customer. It says that i should contact the shipper to stop the shipments... I emailed google to find out why my account had closed and they simply replied that i was not complying to the rules... I asked them to give me details and they said thats all they could say. I then emailed them telling them about the 4000 dollars that was just refunded and they said the y were sorry and wish me the best of luck... i have never had a chargeback with google checkout. they never ever sent me an email complaining about anything. also they never sent an email saying that they were going to close my account... this is pretty screwed up as i was planning to pay a few bills with this........ googled this as well and realized many merchants have had this problem with them... anything i can do? i sent an email to all the buyers explaining what happened... how have they not gotten sued for this?

Justice!

Wow, that sucks. Small claims court maybe. There must be a class action brewing if alot of merchants are getting affected. Ironic that you googled for google checkout problems.

Google is finding out that this stuff is hard. Your transactions were rejected as being fraudulent, either because of the buyer, or you, or the number and size in such a short period. Credit card companies are good at this stuff; it seems that Google is not.

well it did take forever to complete two of the purchases....the larger ones...

but it did eventually do them. it is pretty stupid that a couple days letter this happens...

I've never had any problems with google checkout but then again the largest order i've ever done was $800

Maybe they didn't see your pricing logic.

what are the advantages of using this over paypal?

If nothing else, the google checkout GUI is fucked. Paypal is a infinitely easier to use. In google checkout just sending an invoice is a PITA, and figuring out if you've gotten payout is just as hard.

Is this like the only thing google does is worse at than someone else?

Yeah google checkout sucks. It's 3.9% for international transactions too. Lame.

In the beginning google checkout was nice because for the first 6 months or a year they offered no fees at all. And when you were selling expensive items 0% vs. 4-5% made a big difference. Saved me about $50 when i sold some big ticket items 2 years ago. Haven't used it since they started with fees
