in hearts, hearts are trumph in spades , spades are trumph.
you want to get books in spades but you dont want points in hearts.

I never got into hearts past the Microsoft game.

I grew up playing spades with my dad. I enjoy hearts a lot more now, although my only opponent is the computer.

This is incorrect. In spades, spades are trump. In hearts, there is no trump and, in fact, when a heart is played it does not trump.

hearts definitely. have a feeling i would enjoy spades given the opportunity to learn it.

my old lunch crew in high school oh so many years ago played hearts just about every day. rivalries would form and people would gang up on each other. then on a few occasions, you'd have someone shooting the moon and that would screw with everyone's scores. and there'd be card passing strategies and how to deal with the queen of spades. damn, what a great game.

I used to play both. Played A LOT of spades when I was with USAF. I'd still play but I no one knows how, maybe I should teach the wife. I don't think I've played in about 10 years

That is the game played by several generations in my family. I haven't met anyone outside of them that plays it though. I guess it was popular in the military for a while.
