G-Star

What do you guys think of this brand? I ran a search and surpisingly few threads came up. I think they make great lightweight jackets in particular and I have had some nice, jeans, combats and sweaters from them over the years. I like the 'military' twist they add to their clothes. One of the things I like about them is that they always seem to have a wide range of clothes. If you go to Bloomingdales there always seems to be 10-15 different jackets etc and they are priced well - it's not J Crew cheap, but I think it's good value for the detail/quality they offer.

Try the streetwear forum. I personally like G-star, although a bit pricey.

I know it is ridiculously widespread in Asia, including parts of the continent with nearly no access to the outside world. How this happened I have no idea.

their jeans are inferior

They seem to be fairly popular in Europe. Not surprising, given that they're a Dutch company.

I'm not sure how they would hold up to Japanese superdenim.

I like the jacket but not the jeans. Pricey at full price though.

As a rule, if an item has three or more logos on the exterior of the garment, taking up more than 25% of the total surface area, it should not be worn, but rather, burned with high heat.

Ergo G-Star = one very large bonfire.

its pretty sexy unless u buy the ones that are like covered in logos. wear if u are a guido (and i don't mean phat guido). Wear if u are azn or korean. Some cool jackets to be had from this brand.

I got an Italian friend who swears he modeled for them and signs his emails G-Star (his names starts with a G). I get a chuckle every time.

g-star used to be my favorite brand. 90% of my wardrobe used be g-star. I have grown up from street style and haven't purchased any g-star items in last 12 months. I was so in love with g-start before. I have over 10 jackets , over 30 F/S shirts and maybe about 8/9 g-star jeans and at least 20 t-shirts. ( most of them purchased at sale)
Their twill shirts are made well. Will last you very long time. Their jeans are made in Italy. And jackets are well made. The beauty is their fabric age well and will form a character over time. I had a grey jacket for over 4 years and over times it faded colours and ripped bits and pieces and it looked like it was meant to be like that.
My chest (or maybe its my shoulder)gone bigger in last 12 months and g-star small size fits me everywhere but on the shoulder. On medium i could swim. So yeah ....g-star ....for me is over.

And also in Australia in last 2/3 years G-star became over popular. Its just wired to see way too many people wearing in the city. nod[1].gif

******************************
None of my G-star clothing has any large logo. They only have small thumb size logos. I am not a fan of writing on my cloths.
