Snifter or tumbler (scotch drinkers?)

I know it's now more in vogue to take it in a snifter, but honestly I have always liked scotch out of a nice crystal tumbler with some heft. A snifter just feels a little faggy.

What do ya'll think?

I've never seen anyone drink scotch from a snifter. I guess maybe I'm not cool or something.

I've found it's pretty common, especially at Scotch tastings.

I went to a recent tasting held by the makers of Bruichladdich in Chicago and everything was from a snifter.

A lot of bourbon drinkers do the same.

I am not one of these. I drink mine out of a heavy tumbler.

I use a tulip glass for tasting. It really captures the aromas of the scotch. Tumbler for drinking, though. Ah, Glenfarclas 21. So delicious.

I was at a "micro brewery"/bar recently and they served it in a tumbler, felt odd. I greatly prefer a snifter.

+1 on the tumbler. my dad was a scotch drinker and always used a tumbler. Save the snifter for cognac, which to me makes a completely different impression then drinking scotch.

I have a very nice set of tulips that I use for tasting, but my goto glass is a tumbler.

I just use a nice DOF.

I agree that it makes sense maybe when "tasting", but when "drinking" I prefer a DOF.

I'm the only one that drinks it straight from the bottle?

No.
