Blood in my feces

Not trying to gross anyone out, but found bright red blood today. Kinda freaked me out. Don't really know what to do about it. Don't have health insurance so I'm trying to avoid the doctors, but if this persist I might have to.

Depending on the consistency of the feces, there can be many causes of bright red blood in your feces. If it's normal (solid), first thing that comes to mind that's common is hemorrhoid, but there could be many others as well. If it's diarrhea, it could be caused by an infection. Definitely go see a doctor if this persists.

+1, You may have an internal roid. Have you ever had a colonoscopy?

Was it visible in the bowl or just on the toilet paper?

Its visible in the bowl and looks to be part of the waste. Just got over a couple of days of diarrhea, so the feces is between soft and hard. Maybe that has something to do with it. I'm only 28, the thought of a colonoscopy kinda is freightening. Thought I might have to do that in my mid to late 30s, maybe I'm a early bloomer.

maybe you didn't consume enough fibre.

Did you have a lot of bowel movements within the past few days? Was it painful when you defecated? I mean you are looking at many probable causes. Also without a history and a visual/physical examination, it's hard to tell.

Dude, I had a buddy of mine have this problem and I don't recall what exactly ending up coming from his situation, but I would suggest that you visit your doctor immediatly if it persists.

Is it painful when you defecate? It could just be that you have a laceration of the skin surrounding the whole or a small tear on the inside, which should heal itself with time. As mentioned above, without a proper history/physical its tough to say. If you're worried about it and/or it persists or gets worse, bite the bullet and see a doctor.

Next time you engage in anal sex, use some Astroglide.

You're asking the wrong people. Go to a doctor.

50 unless you have a 1st degree relative who had colon cancer which would mean you do it 10 years earlier than they were diagnosed. Or if you have familial polyposis, then you get it earlier. By the way, you don't need a freaking colonoscopy to diagnose a hemorrhoid. The most might be an anoscopy or [unlikely] sigmoidoscopy.

Most likely a hemorrhoid although possibly related to the infection you just had. If it persists, go to the doc. If not, don't worry about it too much.

+1 on not getting pounded in the ass or using a quality lube. I recommend Maximus over Astro.
