What do you guys use as ringtones? Since I figured out how to make them on iTunes and export them to my phone, I've gone a bit crazy. Here are mine:

General: The Smiths' "How Soon is Now"

Family group: The Who's "Sparks" (Live at Leeds version, actually extracted from "My Generation" and not "Amazing Journey/Sparks", except for a cousin who is very smart but suffering from unusual amounts of teenage angst. She gets Spendora's "You're Standing On My Neck", the theme song to the old MTV cartoon Daria.

GF: U2's "The Sweetest Thing"

Ex's: Theme to Love Parade 1998, "One World, One Future".

Colleagues: Air's "Another Day"

I know this may sound odd, but I have a ringtone that sounds like a phone. I am not being sarcastic, I just really dislike musical ringtones.

I have 52 girls by the B-52's, and Ode to Joy on mine. I find it helpful in identifying when it is my phone that rings.

OMG, what a coincidence. I used that as my 'joke' ringtone for a while, when I was really into the show, Arrested Development. It the theme song to GOB's magic act. HILARIOUS.

These days, my treo rings the same as every other treo owner...

Glad this seems to be a prevalent opinion. Like Dark, when my phone isn't on vibrate, it sounds like a phone, too. We've had a cell since something like '87, so perhaps it's more ingrained that a phone would sound like a phone.

You might have a lame ringtone if...when your cell goes off in class, you're too embarassed to pickup, not becauseof the Prof, but because everyone is laughing.

Worst one I've heard yet is some guy yelling, "The phone's ringing!"

Regards,
Huntsman

With the help of Bubb Rubbette (nee kittyloaf), I uploaded three awesome ringtones to my phone:

-Goin' Out West by Tom Waits - default ring, you may remember this song from the 'walking into the bar' scene in Fight Club
-Dune (OST) Main Title by Toto - kittyloaf's ominous ring, haha
-J'ai Dormi Sous L'Eau by Air - when phone is on quiet

Mine rings like an old rotary-dial phone.

yep. that site pretty much rules.

the air ringtone is the most relaxing ringtone ive heard in my life. i'm still jealous. on my old phone i made quite a few... including a couple sweet metal ringtones and New Kids on the Block - The Right Stuff. so good.

now i'm stuck with what tmobile lets me download from Download Fun!
my general ringtone is Nelly ft. Paul Wall - Grillz. i'm totally serious.

I got a new phone and was thinking of making some. My ideas are:

Pulp Fiction- "*BANG!* ...Oh man, I shot Marvin in the face"

The Professional- "EVERYONE!"

When the fun wears off Ill find a rotary phone ring.

I like standard phone tones, but sometimes you're sitting there going, "is that my phone, or someone else's?"

The only one I seriously considered using as a ringtone was what I refer to as the Buffalo Bills theme song from "NFL Primetime".

For anyone who needs it, I have uploaded a simple "phone-like" ringtone, MIDI file format (it is currently archived in ZIP format, decompress first to use). Cannot remember where I found it.
