Summer Body surfing

I've been posting on different fora, my blog posts that I think people may like....
The response from everyone has been really nice, much appreciated...
I thought some may find this post on bodysurfing of interest.

Here's a horrible video of me bodysurfing in Laguna on that big swell Friday a few weeks ago. I'm the tiny figure dropping in at the very beginning of the video, if you can even see it.

I've tried body surfing but I can't figure out how to get into the wave, really. I'm assuming you need a pretty large wave, similar to how a shortboard requires a larger wave than a longboard?

No, Victoria. Blue Lagoon actually, in front of the sea wall. Brooks was breaking at the 3rd reef that day - tons of surfers were out.

Are you wearing fins? It's pretty difficult to get fast enough without them.

Fins and if it's shallow you can push off the bottom.

Laguna is so small - I'm sure we have friends in common. Next time you're in Atwater Village, skip Hugos and go to Viet Noodle or Canele.
