Help me put together a high-end Scotch giftset - Page 3

Those are some nice suggestions, but I a lot of them are pretty smokey, which is great if that's what you like. Even though you want to spend quite a bit, I always find the glenrothes to be a very high quality smooth scotch for an aforadble price ( the 12 year goes for 35 where I live and the 18 is 68). Balvanie is also a great choice. I like those because I am not such a fan of the smokey scotches. Since you want to buy more than one, you should make sure you aren't buying all smokey flavored scotches.

Why again are spending $500 on booz for your lawyer?

Yep. Looks like I'll be heading back there tomorrow.

Please tell us where you're getting these because some of those bottles are going for less than market value. 65 for Lagavulin and 70!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for Caol Ila 18 is a joke.

For any of you who live in the New York area and can drive to Elizabeth, NJ, the cheapest place to buy booz is at Bayway Liquers right off of exit 13 on the NJ turnpike. Their prices are usually below duty free prices and they are a legit well put together store with a huge selection.

They also have a good selection of beers if you are interested.

Here's what I ended up with for today: Highland Park 18 Caol Ila 18 Lagavulin 16 Balvenie 21 All for $400. I got the guys name and number so if any of you want to contact him about shipping out of state let me know. He said he'd be happy to take them over to UPS and have UPS re-pack them.

I'd appreciate his info.

Would you mind pricing those out individually?

So how do you guys think I should give it to him? I've been tossing around the idea of making some sort of basket but I thought that might be a bit feminine. I don't think I want to give them to him in a cardboard bottle box.

When I do this sort of thing I usually use a wooden box from some winery giftset. Either I sand off the original winery's name or spraypaint it. Maybe you can find one on eBay? ~ H

Interesting idea but that's probably a long shot. Maybe a florist could mock up something interesting.

Send it over with a stripper.

That's a GREAT idea but I don't think the office women would be too fond of it. Or his wife for that matter.

Some excellent suggestions here, but I'd consider mixing it up a bit with a nice bourbon or rye as well. The Black Maple Hill small batches are excellent and not crazy expensive.
