Scary Movies

I don't understand how scary movies freak me out they way they do. I'm watching The Thing and I know it's not real, but it's still scary. I miss having someone to hold my hand. Do you guys get scared?

I think the last one that got me "scared" was The Grudge a few years back. Depends on the style though.. I prefer the mind-fuck genre, a la Cronenberg or "Old Boy."

Ugh...now it's getting gross. Scary I can handle, gross I can't.

Try watching Children of the Corn (part 1) in a house next to a big ass cornfield in the middle of nowhere.

Last (and I think first...) one that ever scared me was some random Korean horror movie. That was before the whole "The Ring" craze in the U.S. and now I'm pretty indifferent to it.

One thing I don't get is the use of CGI in horror movies, or at least, obvious CGI. Who is really scared by something that looks shittier than a cutscene from FFX?

Scare torture movies get to me as well. But regular "scary" movies, no.

I haven't really seen a movie that is truly frightening, yet. I'll probably have to look into foreign films.

I can't recall ever being truly scared by a horror movie in my adult life.

Final Destination-type slasher flicks are a guilty pleasure of mine I suppose, but they don't even try to be scary.

It confounds me that anyone could be scared by The Shining.

Horror movies only scare me in the "surprise!" sort of way for a few seconds. Not in the OMG I'm terrified of this grossness sort of way.
