Does anyone else have any alternatives? I'd like to preserve the original integrity of the jeans and get the pink thread to match as close as possible.

Was under the impression the BOM006 had both a skinny and tapered version. Why not just pick up the tapered one?

EDIT: I see you did that. You want them even more tapered? I suspect proportions will be thrown off - especially if you're heavier from lifting. Embrace the larger leg opening.

Yea - i might have to do that. My general go-to jean is the N&F WG cut in a size 31 (my TTS waist is closer to a 29~), and i have always gotten them tapered from the knee down. The proportions are okay but i always have a lot of extra material around the waist.

Jay mentioned that he will be going back to Japan in a month or so, and will ask them again. Will update you guys on how that plays out.

Try railcar, willrh1 got his BOM003's tapered by them.  His post is here:

Cheers.

It is my opinion that those are super sweet. I'm also of the opinion that you can't go wrong with momotaro.

Agreed.  ;)

Has anyone taken out the pink inseam with a seam ripper?  The stitch appears to be only cosmetic.  I could leave it on but I'd much rather not have it.

Why just not taper them right away on the outseam, while you're at it. Keep in mind that you want them to destroy the selvage ID, so just tell the tailor to do so.

Agree w/ those above. If the pink inseam isn't going to do it for you, look to another brand. It's part of the "quirk" that makes Momotaro what it is.

Exactly.

How about Japan Blue

Or essentially anything. So many companies now have jumped on the "saturated indigo" train and are offering things w/ dark weaves and wefts. PBJ, 3Sixteen, N&F, etc.

I already have the BOM006, which I got for the grand indigo and details.  The inseam is the only thing I'm not crazy about.  It simply just clashes with my wardrobe.  TBH I don't care about the "story" or if it's Momotaro's calling card, how it fits with my style is the most important.  After all they're just jeans, guys.
