Dang, the BOM005s look so good! Measurements seem just about perfect. These might be my next pair of jeans, I'd love to see a fit pic though.

what's the latest group think on the crotch stitching issue?
are we downgrading from a buy to a hold?

Seems like it was only a few pairs from the batch a few months ago at the start of the 702 contest thread.  I think you're safe to grab a pair.

Couldn't fit into mine, but they are pretty awesome. If you're slim enough, then get them no hesitation. My pair measured ~ .25" smaller in the thigh and rise than listed on the site. I'm a fat bastard by SF standards so my experience will likely not be yours.

Go for it.

$550 for those??  That's an additional $250 (on top of the $300 list price for 702s)  for yellow/gold contrast stitching.  Total fanboy purchase IMO.

You forgot about the Natural Indigo...

Totally plant based and probably dyed by hand. Lot of labour that is reflected in the pricetag.

Saturday night, at home after dinner slightly buzzed not thinking much about it, pulled the trigger on the Momotaro 1705's from BiG. About to get hot here in LALA land, 10oz denim should come in handy. Hopefully I won't regret since I had them chain stitch them for me....

Lets do this, PM me.

This was my experience as well, ordered a size 33 BOM005 which has the same measurements from the knee up as my Unbranded 21oz 221's in size 34 (which fit me perfectly). So now I've got to decide if I want to try and stretch them and hope the fit comes around or re-buy a size 34 and try to re-sell the 33's. I got them hemmed so return/exchange isn't an option : /

Got my 1705's from BiG today, real nice light weight denim, perfect for SoCal year round.

I wear a 32 in tbe 0705sp, got a 31 in the 1705s. I think the 1705's might stretch a bit more, the fit overall is pretty similar to my 0705sp's since I sized down one.

If you want a fade that looks kinda like the one in the link, you'd have to size looser to get those lines down the thigh (correct me if I'm wrong about that; it just seems to make sense to me).

I'm far from a denim expert, but isn't the "point" of buying raw denim that the wear and fading patterns that ultimately show up are unique to you, and to how and where you wear your jeans? Otherwise, you may as well just buy a pre-distressed pair with the "pattern" you want, no?

Oooh, it's natural. Cool

Hey guys, come check out this indigo. It's natural, you see! So some old Japanese man dipped these in a vat of blueberries for an hour straight.

So you know it's good.
