This is only my second pair of "raw" denim, other pair being N&F Skinny Guy LHT in size 31, which have loosened up more than I assumed(bought a week earlier)
Wondering if I should keep with the 0200sp or ditch them while I can and size up one.

thought i would post some pics. please let me know if you think these things will loosen up. They are livable in everywhere except the waist right now after a week or so wearing them around the house after work. These are size 30.

I'm normally a size 28 in various brands, and the 701s in 28 took me a few days to get the top button. In addition I initially thought the rise was a bit too low for me, wearing them at the height on my waist was cutting off circulation to my parts. Again, after some wearing they stretched and now fit beautifully. If you are normally a 30, I'd say do a cold soak, let them dry 80% and then put them on, button up as much as you can and wear till they dry completely. Continue to wear them and keep trying to get an extra button. Might take a week or so.

Most importantly, enjoy them!!!!

TBH I think they could go either way. I'd be somewhat dissapointed if you returned them after wearing them for a week... uhoh.gif

Waist is most forgivable measurement as far as stretching goes over the life of the denim. If the thighs are good, you're probably ok. If you're naggingly uncomfortable though...

I have actually been able to have all the buttons done up since the 2nd hour wearing them,  I can sit in them just fine without it hurting(if I move them slightly higher than where I wear them), but getting them buttoned is difficult, and raising a leg, for instance, to skip two stairs walking up, is impossible.

@wrblow:

0705SP is one wash and measures different than 0701, which is Shrink To Fit.

Did you see the indigoskin collab? Those are REAL nice.

Which brings me to my question, does anyone own both 0201(0202) and the 701(702) and how they sized? I have a 32 in the 0201 but I could definitely go a size smaller and be fine however they fit my thighs and front great, just wish the seat was a little tighter and wouldnt mind the waist being snugger as well but you cant win with my frame. I am looking to pick up a pair of 701s or (702s) now but don't want to order the wrong size.

if you wear mid/low rise jeans at your true waist....

and just dumb...

if you knew they were low rise and you didnt like low rise, you shouldnt have gotten them.  the rise measurements are all over the place and you could easily compare it to a pair you already have

FWIW, having NOT owned the 201, but chatted with many people who have and debated it with Jay:

Most people, when sizing TTS for the 70-, can size down 1 for the 20- models, if you want that slim cut. I'd take this as a general rule that you can go down one waist size from the 70- models and be safe, or conversely +1 from your 201 size and still have it work.

Generally. This prolly won't work if you're excessively bulky on your lower half.

Thanks for the response Argentino.

I'm not an excessive build, nor am I skinny in the thigh area. Basically my thigh is perfect on these 0201s could get a 1/2 inch larger or smaller either way and they would like fine, much more and they'd be too tight or too baggy. So from looking at the BiG measurements I think only the 32 would work or else they'd be huge in the waist. To make the thighs work might be close. So the big question is this: if I get the 701s in size 32, after I soak them could I get the thigh back to the presoak measurements? If not, how close could I get them?

Just make sure you can fit into the thigh area. It will shrink about 0.25". Stretching them back is possible. Some even manage to stretch them past presoak measurements, although it will take some effort.

My 0701s. Worn then about 14 months. Size 32. Could have gone down a bit in the waist, but too tight around my thighs. I soaked them while wearing them to stretch em out a bit around the thighs. First real pair of raw denim. I think I washed them a bit too early because they got some shoe polish on them.

momotaro 0701 - 14 months in rotation. Washed a few times.

I don't understand what people mean by "too early" when it come sto washing. I mean they are jeans... shit gets dirty wash them or don't. Like Caltex's mastodon penis when it drags across his Persian tasseled rugs and egyptian cotton sheets... Amiright?!foo.gif
