My 201's

Hot pre-soak. Got them hemmed, tailor took off ~6inches, the leg hem is 1/2 inch wider than the original hem. In my opinion, the hem is too large and it's almost a bootcut style.

The jeans fit good. The fit is relaxed, but I would have prefer a slimmer fit. The pants bulge in the crotch area whenever I sit. It crumples up too much at the knee, and from the knee down it looks rather baggy. I guess I have to get them tapered *sigh* I'm going to hot soak it again and put it in the dryer to get the rest of the shrinkage out.

how did you not realize this going into the hemming? what a waste of a nice pair of jeans..... a different cut probably wouldve been better

No, they're fine unless you want a lot of tight stacking.

Caltex- I've never had denim like Momotaro in regards to stretching. I could put on a pair of 501s, mow the yard, and have them be 2-3 sizes too big in a couple of hours. Most denim stretches, and when you add heat and moisture, they seem to really distort.

I've worn my 201s on construction sites in 105 degree temps. Squatting and kneeling all day, sweating my balls off, and the fuckers haven't stretched at all. No knee bags or saggy ass. My tagged 34 is still at around 35, which is my true waist.

I wouldn't size down. Shit, when I'm squatting, the thighs pull tight enough print the thigh hem of my boxer briefs, but they still don't stretch. Their resistance to stretching is almost uncomfortable.

I agree on the lack of stretching. Not much at all beyond the waistline.

Just did a soak and spent about 20 minutes getting the top button, but I did get it! Tomorrow I'll get these hemmed up.

And so it begins!

The odd crunching, bulging, etc will all get straightened out as you wear them. While still rigid they'll be a bit resistant, but give them a few weeks and the silhouette will start to calm down.

Not much momtaro clothing posts here, picked up the Thermal Hoodie in Charcoal, great piece. Pretty small and slim fitting, I normally am a Medium, but the Large in this fits me well, still real slmi.

Yes. Sign of crotch blowout happening there.

Nice. How is the length in the body? Is the thermal material stretchy? Always feared it being short. I've been looking for a M in the non thermal version navy or grey but no luck. Fit pics would be great.

I'd considered picking up one of the GTB hoodies from Blue Owl, but didn't have the faith to pay that much for such a casual garment. Do post pics when you can.

The fit is slim for sure. I am 5"11 w/ a 40" chest. I got the medium and it was CRAZY short. Chest was tight but not too bad. Returned it for the L and I am very happy.

I can snap some fit pics, but I can tell you it still is on the shorter side but by no means whatsoever too short. Arms are snug, but comfy. The thermal material definietly stretches when you wear it, though it goes back to it's original form when you take it off. Per the price, it's fair. I mean W+H hoodies are comparable, I love my W+H hoodies, but this is a very different more unique piece. Unless you are a small guy, I would seriously suggest sizing up.

This thread is certainly inspiring. The appeal of clothes that age only grows stronger with every revisit, and I am definitely visiting Blue Owl when I find the time off work. Just found out about Blue Owl at the Blackbird holiday party thanks to a forum member.

Whats up everybody? Idk if this is the correct place to post this, but I desperately need a pair of momo x blueowl midnight warriors in either a size 32 or 33.. Are they long gone at this point? I cannot find anybody selling a pair and I believe they are all sold out on the website. confused.gif
