I can't decide between the 0702 and 003. I like the black patch on the 003 but I'm worried the thigh will be too skinny. Anybody have fit pics of them? I'd be a 31 in the 0702 and a 32 in the 003. The difference between them (0702 is roomier) is .25 in the thigh, .05 in the knee, and .2 in the leg opening, but the 003 is unsanforized which I've never dealt with before so there is potential for an even greater difference post wash. Any tips? I like the details on the 003 but I think the 0702 might be the fit I'm looking for.

I have the 003's in 36. I didn't have a problem buttoning up the pants, but it was definitely a challenge at first. My thighs are 25" and where the pants sit on me is 38" with my natural waist and hips at 36" and 40.5", respectively. They stretched enough to where I like it, but I don't plan to wear these jeans daily to justify a wash anytime within the year. I don't have my phone in my [front] pocket because of how bothersome it is to take it out though. I guess my advice is if these will be your only pants and/or you plan to get fades and whatever in the shortest time possible, then get the 0702's. If you're a casual nigga like me, then get the 003's.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

If you don't mind, I'd love your input on my case.
True Waist:33.5"
Hips:35.75"
Upper Thigh:23"
Knee:14.75"
Desired Rise:~10"
I've got a pair of 0701 in a size 34 coming with the following measurements: 36.15" waist, 10.85" rise, 12.4" thigh, 9.4" knee, 39.5" inseam, 8.65" leg opening.
Good match? I plan on hot soaking them twice when they arrive, I'm a little worried about the thighs though...
I think the 34 will work out very well for you. Assume maybe 1.5 inches down in the waist would put it only slightly bigger than your given measurement. The thighs shouldn't be a huge issue either based on what you've written. Personally, I think the cut will work really well for you.

thanks, the one thing I had and you ruin it for me. ugh, you're a typical guy.
True Wais (around navel?): 35.5 (I let myself go after my marriage)
Hips: 36.5
Upper Thigh: 24.25
Knee: 15.75
Desired Rise: I have no idea
calf: 16.25
le package: 7 cm
note: I dont wan't to look like a high school kid in skinny jeans, I am leaning more towards the MC side
Personally with your measurements, I'd go for the 36 in the STF 701 (or the sanforized versions of the 701/702). My hips are a tad smaller than yours but I still eventually needed to size up for comfort's sake. I could button the waist and fly on the 34, but it wasn't comfortable enough to be the practical go-to err'day jean I was looking for at the time. My true waist is smaller, and my thighs are larger than yours. The 701 is a fantastic cut of denim - I'd highly recommend it.
My second option before I decided to size up was to just go for a 201. Those are pretty roomy, a standard straight leg with very slight taper for shape's sake. I think you may really enjoy that cut if you're heading MC, as you say

Also. I want your Stark.
I AM BACK!!!!!
Thanks!
Well I have not sold the deep indigo 702's so I can not justify making another denim purchase.

I will definitely keep the 201 in mind, I saw this guy on the plane wearing jeans that looked great but for obvious reasons I did not ask about them. I assume that with the MC look, stacking is kept to a minimum.
Ahhh, the stark.

sorry e-bro, but I did look through a few sites to see if there was one in your size.

My advice would be. Decide which cut you like best and size appropriately. Since the denim on the 003 is shrink to fit and is a really slim cut, it's wise to size up.
In my opinion the 0702 runs real close to tag also. You could go TTS, but I won't recommend sizing down on these. It will be a pain. believe me.
They both will fade superb.
Also, if this will be your first foray into shrink to fit denim, I would recommend the 0702. It makes it easier to get the right size afterwards in different Momotaro denim (being unsanforized, that is). 0702 doesn't shrink, being a sanforized fabric. It can stretch a bit after prolonged periods of wear. The 003 "moves" both ways, the shrinking being unevitable and likely very hard to impossible to stretch beyond raw measurements. Denim is tightly woven on Momo's, meaning they won't give much...
Chances are likely you would sooner be able to move a truck single handed, than to stretch Momotaro denim :P
Recent purchase. I wonder will this 0702 stretch on the waist? The thigh area is ok but the waist is tight. Manage to button up to the top on the 2nd day but having difficulties when siting down. Should i sell it to get a new one or will the waist stretch? The reason why I get size 30 for 0702 cos my 0705 size 31 stretch too big for my liking. So I decided to downsize for 0702 and the waist part is super tight. Just a little concern about the stretching ability and the button might break. Anyone who have experience can advice. Thnks in advance

You won't get a ton of stretch in the waist. I'd recommend getting the size up. One's not traditionally able to size down effectively on the 700 models...

anyway, have you soaked already? if yes, & you don't have any other issues 'cept the waist, then it's still doable__ possibly even end up with a nice slimmer fit,__ ie, if that's what you were aiming for.
the waistband is still rigid & stiff__ w/c makes the waist feel even tighter. @this point you need to "break" the waistband by conditioning/tempering the fabric. denim is fully sanforized, so there's no other natural tendency, but for it to stretch out
i've mentioned [this] technique a few times here already, but, anyway ....get a stick or hanger that's about the same measurement as the current [ie, stretched-out] waist.
every time you soak, jam that stick against the [buttoned up] waistband & keep it there until they fully dry.
the purpose is to nail down the waistband to 'absolute" [current, worn, stretched] measurement while allowing the rest of the jeans to cure/temper/shrink on queue [as normal]. keep the routine until the fabric softens up & stabilizes.
Thks alot for all your feedback. I check the measurements in blueowl and for tag size 30 for 0702 waist is 31inch. Currently i have a 0705sp tag size 31, upon wearing it for 6 mths, i realise it stretch to 32inch on the waist. Hence, i decided to size down 1 for 0702 hoping when it stretch fully, it will give a perfect fit on my waist. I did not soak the 0702 as it is sanforized and i dun think it will strink alot. I like the 07xx fitting. Trying to wear it more often but there is some concerns going thru my head.(used to have a pair of apc and size down too much and give too much stress on the top button until it break.) Thnks for the tips and technique u mention IIIrd Icon. Hope the waist will be able to stretch about .5 to 1 inch. the thigh area is ok for me, not very tight. So my only concern is about the waist. Anw thanks alot for all your help.
