edit: yes says so in your post, sorry!

We used the same pattern as the Japan Blue 0401. So yes, expect them to be very similar.

Yes, the thigh stretches, but not quickly.

Forgot I posted original measurements, thank you for finding them. Here are the current measurements of my pair.

Tag 32 - - 34.4" waist, 10.65" rise, 11.5" thigh, 8.65" knee, 35" inseam, 7.75" leg opening

how does the leg opening stretch back out when theres not much pressure being exerted in that spot? the weight of the stacks pushing the leg opening against your shoes? but i guess also from cuffing

From cuffing plus after washing a few times there is less starch and maybe more flexible from last time being measured.

Coming Soon! Momotaro x Blue Owl 13oz Silk Blend "Tapered" Raw Selvedge - BOM004

We have yet another project in the works - Momotaro x Blue Owl BOM004. Our newest Momotaro collab has just been finalized and is scheduled to be released before the holidays. This denim will feature a silk blend fabric which uses 40% silk and 60% Zimbabwe cotton and it introduces a new fit never made by Momotaro....."tapered!" Here are a few more details.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
The fabric is a 13oz sanforized selvedge made with a blend of silk for the weft yarns and Zimbabwe cotton on the warp. The Zimbabwe cotton is rope dyed in pure indigo to a super dark color, but the actual color has a blue gray tone as the silk can be seen along the surface. The exterior surface has slubby texture and a soft feel with a touch of crispness. The interior is incredibly soft, like wearing silk bed sheets wrapped around your legs. Bottom line, this denim is pure luxury, plus it will fade well as the dark indigo will give a nice contrast after some wear. Light blue gray thread was used throughout the denim, including the exposed inseam, which has a slight contrast against the pure indigo dyed fabric. The fit is the same "tapered fit" that is used Japan Blue tapered denims. The fit has a medium to low rise, a bit of room in the thigh, and tapers from upper to a narrow leg opening.

Really appreciate the "Blue Owl" arucate here.

Wish I could claim that as my own, but it is a Momo standard used on denims like the Copper Label and Grand Indigo. Simple and tasteful, right side only.

What...? Those are momo arcs. They're on the grand indigo
post #1492 of 3318
Yeah - I've just never seen a pair with said arucate before. Thought they were a Blue Owl touch (mirroring the crescent moon in the logo). Not the case though.

The arcs is the peach from which momotaro was born from

I am thinking of buying a pair of Momotaro 0201 jeans, anyone here who got a pictures of them while wearing?
Can you compare the fit to a pair of APC New Standards? Also how about soaking before wearing because of the shrinkage, how does that work?
Just filling a bath tube full with hot water en put them in there without anything else?

Thanks in advance,

201 should be a bit more relaxed than the NS, despite also being a straight leg. I suspect they could fit fairly similarly with proper sizing, but in general I'd expect a straight, slightly looser fit.

Thank you, and how about sizing? True to size or should I size down?

Whatever you do, don't size down. I sized down less than with any other raw denim I've owned and they were ludicrously tight. I thought it would be ideal to barely be able to do up the button when new. Instead, they stayed tight for a couple weeks. The I fell down some stairs after a bit of drinking and the top button popped right off. If anyone wants some 0701s cheap, and doesnt mind replacing a button hit me up.

Both is possible, depends on your build.

By the way... the 0201 looks like a straight jean, but it is a tapered fit (from knee down). Look a page or two back, shrinkage has been discussed numerous times here.

0701 is a different fit dude. Read wink.gif

@ El_Argentino: The Blue Owl arc comment was hilarious. I almost pissed in my pants.

Clearly. The point is the Zimbabwe cotton has much less stretch than almost anything else on the market. Read the measurements, go by that. Just don't expect momos you buy uncomfortably tight to stretch out.
