Your opinion on J. Crew - Page 2

thanks, greg. i've been looking for some pima polos for weekend wear and found land's end has a very wide selection and at the $30 level, i might try out a couple to see if they're good.

J Crew's polos are $25 if you buy in pairs. If you want something fitted, they are by far preferable to Land's End.

I like J Crew, and Lands End.

Lands End stuff is usually cut way big, especially shirts and sweaters. J Crew is generously cut, but not as blousy as Lands End. Lands End recently launched a "tailored fit" line which is fairly fitted -- slimmer than the standard J Crew stuff.

I will also add that although J Crew usually has more funky colors than Lands End, Lands End occassionally does create some crazy colors as well. They had a bunch of moleskin trousers last season that were red, purple, green, etc. I bought the brown ones and am happy with them.

One warning about Lands End: they have a navy blue they call "true navy", but it is actually really light in real life (more like electric blue). Quite terrible.

Their custom shirt program rocks.

JCrew is still a great option for casual wear- it's my go-to shop for those kinds of things (khakis, tshirts, simple polos, sweaters, etc). I as well mourn the days when they put EVERYTHING on amazing clearance but they've gotten so much better in most every aspect that I can't complain. Of the bunch that they are lumped into (A&F, BR, Land's End, Gap, etc.) they are by far the best option for the sartiorally inclined, IMO

I find I have to size waaaaay down for Lands' End polos, but I really do like them otherwise.

LE's real navy blue color is "midnight navy", I believe. I picked up a duffel coat in this color, and it's just about right.

okay. i ordered- for the first time in lands end- around 4 pima polos. i based the size on the measurement guide box they have. and i had a couple monogrammed. i hope they're not a waste of my money.

I love Jcrew. I used to think they were a poor man's Polo but after I bought a few shirts from them I loved their fit and the quality. FOr a $60 shirt I they're great, Im sure others would disagree. Some of theyre items are not worth their cost new (their suits at around $500, when even I could buy something a little better for the same price at an outlet).

Anyway I hope on buying a pair of suede mocassins ($70), white linen blazer ($120) and pants ($50) from them during their current sale

Lands' end custom shirt program is ok (I did a white shirt through the program). I would prefer more options, though. Personally, I would want taller collars, and edge stitching on the collars.

As for J Crew - nice looking stuff, but a lot of the shirts don't fit me.
