Actually I think that if they could finish fifth, they probably would. I wonder what the record for blowing saves by giving up the long-ball to people who aren't power hitters is?

Last year you mean? No one's playing over their head like they did last year. CWS were a one-hit wonder the likes of which we haven't seen since Lisa Loeb.

Lol, the Mets are on fire right now but they are 3 injuries away from suckitude. Its a long season, remember last year's meaningful baseball in September? What did that net those Metsies?

Having said that, i wish the Mets well.

The Yankees have definite problems but theyll just bash their way to the playoffs. The red Sox look like they might have screwed themselves. Why you mess with a proven formula...

I will say for the Mets that Glavine was a top 3 pitcher second half last year, and seems to have kept it up. If he can carry the team through some rough stretches, they could be OK. They're not getting any production out of that magical middle infield, so there room on the team to go up and down.
