Shampoo w/o SLS and similar chemicals

Thread Starter
growing my hair out and Ive noticed it is very dry, and some of the problem may be due to the chemicals in my shampoo. (garnier fructis) So what are some options for a cheap, natural shampoo ( under 10 bucks) Ive heard of burts bee shampoo, aloe-jojoba shampoo, etc, but I am finding mixed reviews. Thanks for any help.

Might wanna check Whole Foods, they have a lot of different types of organic shampoos.

It really depends on what exactly you're looking for ? If it's just SLS free, then you can technically use Dr. Bonner's Soaps. I would even hop onto www.etsy.com and just do a query for SLS free shampoo, you'll find tons of homeade stuff.

Avalon Organics. You can find them at pretty much any health food store; sometimes, they're in regular grocery stores.

sodium laureth/lauryl sulfate free alone does not make it good

make sure u look for ammonium lauryl sulfate and parabean, and dimethycone free as well

then u have to check if the positive ingrediants r indeed positive

in my experience its hard to find a good shampoo/conditioner cheap; raise ur price range to 20 to 50 dollars for 8 ounce and u have urself some choices

jojoba oil, aloe vera leaff juice, all those plant extracts etc that actually do help, attention to the last part as many of them r merely
placeholders

Try not washing it. I didn't think I could do this, but it's working out well. Been about a month.

The Burt's Bees stuff doesn't have SLS. It seems to work pretty good I just starting using it a few weeks ago.

Hugo Naturals.

'Natural' shampoos can irritate and also smell. Not washing will lead to smelly hair, even if you don't notice it. (Women have a better sense of smell, and men sweat more.) Hence, a suggestion is DHS Clear Shampoo.
