Gilt and similar operations doing well.

In this economy it's good to see some types of businesses doing well.

Gilt projects a 10 fold increase in revenues from 2008-2009!

I hadn't heard of the others Rue La La, Haute Look, or Ideeli. But they all predict at least a 4 fold increase in business. Not bad for these times. Most of us have dealt with Gilt of course, but has anybody dealt with any of the other 3 companies?

I've used RueLaLa... similar to Gilt, but they also have things like higher end kitchenware, day spa stuff (good for gifts), and vacation time at resorts.

i love gilt and think it's a smart, well-run business but how can someone predict that kind of exponential growth in this economy. still reliant on people who think paying $300 for an $800 item is a bargain "” people like me.

I've used HauteLook. They mostly have Women's stuff as far as clothing, but they frequently have Men's watches, sunglasses, and kitchen & home ware. Their site isn't as user friendly as Gilt's though and they're shipping takes much, much longer. In the area of about 2.5 weeks for standard orders.
