Would It Be Okay to Shave My Head with a Safety Razor?

I currently shave my head every other day with a Gilette Fusion Power razor and I have been using that razor for the last 1 1/2-2 years and some days I've been pleased with the results and some days I find myself looking for a closer shave, or the closest shave possible. I have started reading into Safety Razors and have never tried one, but am intrigued. Would switching to a safety razor make a huge difference with the closeness of the shave I get or would I be just as fine with what I'm using now? Also, if I switch to a safety razor, would I have to use a mug and brush to apply cream to my head or could I just use a can of shave gel from the store?

You can use a can of gel, but really it's better to replace the canned goo with cream and a brush before you get a safety razor. The most important part of the whole shaving kit is the brush.

If you like using a brush and real cream, then you might also like the experience of using a real razor.

If you don't have a problem using the Gilette, it will probably give you a closer shave than a safety razor.. I use a safety because regular razors irrate my skin, due to the closer of shave they provide.

I believe this is correct. I too use a safety razor because regular razors are too irritating.

They are also more expensive, and if you're shaving your head "every other day" I expect you go through a lot of blades. The safety razor would save you considerably over the long term.
