My tailor recommendation - Do's Custom Tailor in DC

I guess its only appropriate that I only find a good tailor 3 weeks before I'm leaving, but I would like to wholeheartedly recommend Do's Custom tailor in Georgetown for any tailoring needs. Although they're pretty expensive, you get what you pay for, and they do not shy away from difficult jobs or actually tapering/slimming things.

I had an especially tricky to alter Rag & Bone jacket altered from the shoulder seam (had the sleeves shortened) and they did a BEAUTIFUL job.

They also tapered two Band shirts for me, and the work is flawless.

Has anyone used Field English tailors? How do they compare to Do's?

I think it was around $30. High, I know, but DC and they did a fantastic job.

I have to do the same to mine. If it wasn't for end of season deep discounts, I'd skip over BoO entirely due to that.

Will is great, but I wouldn't take small stuff (shirts, just hemming pants) to him.

Any other DC tailors worth going to? College student, can't afford to spend a lot, etc...

This seems like a good place to ask so - How do you guys go about finding a good tailor? What do you look for in a tailor? I ask because I don't know any good tailors in my area or how to find one.. I mean there some in the shopping malls or strip malls but I have no idea if they're any good or how to tell if I'm getting what I pay for.

word of mouth + trying it yourself. IME yelp has been worthless.
