Should I buy a scooter? - Page 2

If you are gonna get a scoot get something a decent size and dont buy a cheap chinese piece of shit. Stick to Suzuki, Yamaha, Piagio (vespa)/ Bajaj, Aprillia, and Kymco. Then again, unless you are really really only planning on putting around this will be ok. I used to ride a tuned 70cc scooter (pull 70mph on the Highway), but I found it not nearly fast enough for anything outside of town.

If your commutes are short and the weather is nice, scooters are badass, at least in an urban environment.

Whats wrong with a Kawasaki or Ducati? It looks sweet as hell and I think it would be pretty cool for a businessman to pull up in one of those and take the helmet off.

I take it you haven't tried riding on a real motorcycle wearing a suit and nice shoes? Not fun.

Scooter on the other hand is way easy, and you don't even scuff your shoes.

Sad truth: Ducs, Ninjas, Gixxers, etc are mostly owned by douche bags. As much fun as they are, a guy in a suit riding one isnt all that "cool" Besides of one did, it would probably be a oversized Hugo Boss suit with the sleeve label still on and the sleeves covering his knuckles.

it's damn hard to ride a bike bike in business attire. at the very least, you fuck up your shoes with the gear shifter. Scooters are pretty easy, but you are eternal risk of someone driving through a puddle and splashing crap all over you, or through some roadworks and ending up covered in dust etc etc
