For whey protein, Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard is great. Metabolic Drive from Biotest is also great, but pricier. I would buy the ON and drink it before bed; get Biotest's creatine for workouts.

Keep in mind that semen isn't good for cutting because it contains a fair amount of fructose.

I never stick to the same protein - I aways mix it up month to month or every few months, or whatever is on sale.

I've used (extensively):
pro lab
EAS (pure protein - which I was warned against because of the high cholesterol, and myoplex)
Muscle-tech (nitro-tech - because it was on heavy sale - and mesotech: hideous)
Designer protein
vyo-tech - which gives the most serious case of flourescent urine I have ever seen
cytosport
muscle milk
ON
BSN true mass
met-rx
isoflex
bio-x

and on and on.

Why stick to one brand?


edit: i've never used weider, don't care to, and don't even know if it's still around.
