Help!-C&J Weymouth Sizing

Thread Starter
I just got my Weymouths from Plal yesterday and was very excited to try them on. But to my dismay, they feel about a half size too big. After talking with Shyam of Plal, and reading other threads about the 337 last, I ordered a full size smaller than what I normally wear. Since I wear a US 7.5 D, I ordered a UK 6.5E.
However, My heel slips out a bit when I step and there is a good 2 inches of space between my big toe and the end of the toe box. I understand that there is suppose to be some space left over in the toe box, but this seems like a bit much. I can fill out the sides of the shoe (where my little toe, and the ball of my big toe rest) just fine. It's just the heel and toe box that seem big.
So should I go down a half size to a 6E, or is this how the Weymouths or any other shoe on the 337 last is suppose to fit? Will the heel slippage disappear once the shoes are broken in? Thank You!

You could always add inserts. That usually seems to do the trick for me with shoes that are a 1/2 size too big.

Talk to Shyam. He'll probably advise you to go down another half size. I doubt the heels will get any more comfortable with wear and will more likely loosen up even more. You'll drive yourself crazy with those shoes. It sounds like your worst case scenario is a little tightness in the width but the leather in those shoes will give you that after a few hours.

I'm interested in inserts, I have a couple of pairs of shoes which could use them (an insole alone isn't enough to feel really comfortable). Any idea where I could buy inserts online ? (I never saw them in Belgium, but I might not have looked correctly).

Thx
