Bedrrom furniture

Anyone got any ideas for free standing wardrobes that would suit a fairly contemporary/modern bedroom? The bedroom is roughly 13x13 and has 10 ft ceilings. The previous owner installed an en suite bathroom where the closet was, so there is no option for a closet.

Have you thought about having a custom closet made? Don't actually cost much more than stuff found in furniture stores

Yeah I thought about that option, and wa maybe thinking about a built in corner piece that looks like it is part of the rooms structure, plus adds detail to a fairly bland box design? Then I could decorate the rest of the room more freely than if I had a wardrobe sticking out of one wall.

I usually don't say things like that ,but honestly: "Ikea" has module wardrobes with dark- smoked glass sliding doors that are very decent looking and could be customized in size and shelving.

Don't look online though, as Ikea "˜s online presentation is awful. Go to the store and look at wardrobe sections. I personally have 2 wardrobes from them. One is shoes only floor to ceiling and another one is custom closet with all sorts of neat sliding shelves and hangers.

Have a thin wall built along one side of the bedroom. Have it painted just like the other walls in the room. Leave an opening big enough to walk through at the far end of the room. Insert poles, shelves etc. at will. There's your walk-in & clutter-less closet.

I like the idea but can you sacrifice that much space in a 13x13 room? At ~$500-$700 Ikea isn't a bad choice if you are still experimenting... maybe something like this in your choice of color?

Thanks for all the help guys, I just actually bought some furniture I went for a dark reclaimed oak freestanding wardrobe, bed, and low set of drawers. I think it'll look pretty good when it's all in.

I had a custom closet made...but it turned out to be a little too small, so I sold it on B&S.
