pretty much. I've heard that the FDA actually thinks its one of the safest food additives it allows because of the huge amount of research that's resulted from its controversy.

no. the walls hold the pigs stationary so they're not moving around. then they're usually hit with a bolt gun or something like that. think about it: crushing them wouldn't do much for the meat, would it?
