Canada Goose - Page 59

Originally from Toronto, but living in Seoul now. I've had my Canada Goose with me here for about 2 years now and the first couple winters, I've probably only worn my CG parka about 5 times. But this winter, it's been -15 or a lot....feels like it's been like that for a month or so, but my Canada Goose has kept me really warm during my commute to and from work. I remember back in 2010, everyone was shocked to see my parka and asked what kind of brand it was...but this year, it appears that a lot of people are wearing CG on the streets of Seoul. I've spotted a lot of good fakes and blatant fakes (with wrong logos, etc). I'm glad that I'm not in Toronto right now...because I'd have to look for a different parka to keep me warm cause I dont wanna look like everyone else on the street.

No, but I travel frequently to Europe/nth America in winter.

Am I better off just waiting a few months until stocks replenish?

Chilliwack Bombers run small so go a size or two up from your normal size.

that was my experience when I tried on the Chilliwack bomber at Nordstroms. I usually wear a size large but had to size up to an xl for it to feel right.

That's the size I wear. I could have gone up another size and still been happy but the XL fits me perfect. Its nice and warm in high mountain winter weather.

Gaseous, Norman, can you tell me what your suit coat size is? I'm 6'0" 160 lbs, usually a 40R. I'm trying to guesstimate what size Chilliwak will fit me, in case I find a deal on-line. Nobody carries CG around here. Hell, even in Chicago there was limited selection, so if I find a deal on a Chilliwak, it's going to be on-line

i'm 5'11", 185 lbs and I wear a 40R with a 34" waist. a size xl Chilliwack felt the most natural on me when I tried it on at Nordstroms. Is there a Nordstroms in your neck of the woods? Did you check the CG website for a list of their authorized dealers in your town? I'd hate to advise you on sizing if you haven't physically tried a CG coat on for yourself. As I mentioned before, some CG coats seem to fit smaller than your standard coat, or they all seem to be fitted.

do any of you own the CG d'alpago bomber? Is the fit similar to the Chilliwack, or is it a bit longer like the Borden bomber? $1300 seems a bit steep for this particular coat but it looks nice

I tried them on at Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's in Chicago, but I couldn't tell how they fit exactly because neither I nor several sales associates could get them zipped. 40R wearing an extra large surprises me, I am usually swimming a bit in a medium. Next time I'm in Chicago, I'll try them on again.

I actually went to try on some CG jackets today, and the guy there showed me a trick. He said never touch the double sliders on the side. Just grab beside them to keep them steady, and then put the longer insertion piece in from the other side. It should then zip up pretty easily.

I tried this trick on another parka and it worked. Holding the fabric on both sides, not the zipper itself, seemed to allow it to "set" better, then it could be zipped. Thanks.

it's because it was the Chilliwack, which is meant to be shorter at the waist. I like my parkas to be a little longer in the waist and so that's why I sized up to an xl. the sleeves were a little longer than I liked but the waist felt more comfortable. I should probably look at the CG Borden coat instead, as I believe this coat is 2.25" longer in the waist than the Chilliwack. The other difference is the Borden has a detachable hood and costs more. I do like the D'Alpago bomber but $1300 is too rich for me

I tried on the CG Borden coat yesterday and the size large fit me perfectly, whereas, the XL's sleeves were way too long.

meh. still don't see what the fuss is about. everyone in the US wears TNF or whatever other brand floats their boat. the fact that someone made a lame rap video about CG speaks volumes about the elitist attitude some people have about clothing.
