I apologize for making a semi-serious post in a bit of a ridiculous thread, but I don't think anyone has really brought up the fact of how many jews there really are in Manhattan. Fully 20% of the residents in Manhattan are jewish. And you can also bet that most of these folks aren't living in the hood. So what you're left with in a lot of neighborhoods is almost half the people you see on the street are god's chosen ones.
Maybe you're experiencing more of a New Yorker thing than a Jew thing, as Jew and New Yorker are pretty close to synonymous?
