Anyone taking bets as to who will prevail Sunday evening? I personally can't stand the woman and her happy homemaker schtick, so I'm definitely rooting for the guy.

The dude is too much of a fucking douchebag to win (and a terrible cook, too). The chick is at least half way decent to look at, so my money is on her.

Your standards have hit a new low. But the chick does have a more defined schtick and will appeal to the daytime audience. I still haven't figured out what "cooking without borders is supposed to mean."

That's what I get for perusing the steez's various wemynz appreciation threaks. Tell those bastards to up their game. Like I said, dude is just an utter douchebag. And he can't even cook.

I lost all hope on the guy when he massacred the risotto.

The girl was really attractive in college.

I thought the french dude and Samuelson were going to team up and murder him. It's no wonder he lost. Both contestants were horrible though and this show is generally a terrible indicator of future success. I mean the one winner who has done well is that douche with the bleached spikes...

I hate the food network. Except for Alton Brown. Ride that gravy train buddy. Ride it hard.

really annoyed that the chick won. i don't want another sandra lee rachel ray eat and make food in 15 minutes show. all the food network shows except a handful are exactly that. i thought a show about a new ingredient every week would have been a lot more interesting than another lame show. iron chef, alton brown, and tyler's ultimate are the only shows i care to turn on

+1

My buddy watched it with me last night, and, never seeing melissa before, he hated her within 20 seconds.

You forgot Ace of Cakes, which rules.

I thought the guy was at least entertaining. His pilot even had a better angle. He may have been a crappy cook, but I would have checked out his show. The woman was far too annoying to win, but I guess they felt she would have a pull on the working-mom demographic.

btw, did anyone check out his watch? Was that a Panerai?

I can't believe the chic won. I didn't watch any of it, but I'd see the commercials. That chic is instantly annoying, just like Rachel Ray.

And that's why she won. That annoying thing (to you and many) is a familiarity and homeyness that appeals to Middle America. Jeffrey will probably get a show anyway. He's too good not to.

If that's true, it's enough for me to start speaking of "flyover country" in disparaging tones too.
