I can't think of the last time I've even seen a Radioshack.

Yeah there's only 2 around me and they are always empty and in really shitty areas. That's part of the reason I've had success with them though - nobody even thinks about them.when the 5 came out AT&T and Apple both said it was about 12-14 weeks wait time, I called radioshack and got 1 the next day.

IME Radioshack caters to a different demographic than your average SF user.

Radioshack has an image problem as both radios and shacks have been obsolete for years now

I like going to radioshack because I know I'll find the odd sized batteries I need for my humidor's digital hygrometers. Used to by Y audio cables (RCA stereo to 3.5 mm) cables too from them for parties. Not much of anything else.

some of you marketing types might appreciate this: this dude on twitter has been replying to all those brands who "mourn" 9/11 with discount codes and the like. so glad none of our pet brands do this

Yeah that "trending topics" sidebar thing on facebook says Radioshack is about to declare bankruptcy.

FORT WORTH, TX—Despite having been on the job for nine months, RadioShack CEO Julian Day said Monday that he still has "no idea" how the home electronics store manages to stay open.

"There must be some sort of business model that enables this company to make money, but I'll be damned if I know what it is," Day said. "You wouldn't think that people still buy enough strobe lights and extension cords to support an entire nationwide chain, but I guess they must, or I wouldn't have this desk to sit behind all day."

Doubtful it's more views, but there are problems with our system, some structural, which we are working on, others, cultural - our primary strength is in the CM domain, both for buyers and high volume, high quality, powersellers. That also dictates part of our structural problems. Harder to work on, but I am.
