Near U St, there's Redeem, which I've heard is pretty good, though I've never been myself. For higher end designers like Prorsum, you can check out the stores up in Friendship Heights.

Ultimately, though, the best place to shop in DC is Yoox.

whoa you are in DC? I was staying at a friend's place in capitol hill for a few days last week. should've had a little bam+g meet up

Good the weather has been exceptionally shit and its been 10-14c and rain for the last two plus weeks, which completely out of the normal.

I think SZ-ish designers like Guidi/A1923 appear to be purely creative, but looking at their prices definitely indicates some hustling. 2k shoes is not reasonable in any sense. Maybe Carpe Diem started out with the intent to just produce clothing, but eventually they also started charging ridiculous amounts of money for stuff.

I'll still buy it though.

what makes them appear to be purely creative? saying that guidi is a creative endeavour strikes me as particularly odd; they're a tannery who decided to make some pretty uninspired designs in order to take business from their own customers

Yeah, I have been watching. It looks like it is turning around now so hopefully it will be nice and moderate for the week we are there. LA has been dry and 30-35c lately so honestly we wouldn't even mind a bit of "weather" just to get a change of pace.

She's pretty harmless, though, no? Like, if you do what la guy does and look at StyFo as a bar, she's the one muttering to herself as she wanders aimlessly around the room, occasionally bumping into tables where other bargoers are having conversations. Compare to DP92, who runs from table to table brandishing his dong in everyone's face before disappearing out the door for months at a time.

Harmless yes, slightly annoying when she quotes herself repeatedly, yes.

Yeah it was 20C today, so a vast improvement hopefully it lasts for a couple weeks.
